Fitness On Pensacola Beach: Sun, Sand, and Shore
Regardless of fitness level or exercise of choice we’ve got miles of pristine coastline with snaking roads, elevated dunes, and waterways to spike your heart rate. If you’re more of a traditional gym rat, we’ve got you covered with the lionshare of the hotels having dedicated indoor fitness centers and a variety of pools.
Nature Based & Human Powered.
Fitness In Paradise…
Our area has produced and is home to a variety of world class athletes in part due to our proximity to the world renowned Andrew’s Institute. It’s not uncommon to see professional athletes cross training or rehabbing on our shores. If you’re up for the challenge and consider yourself in the fitness elite, try sprinting up the 40 foot+ dunes at Sand Island or Naval Live Oaks, you’ll be sure to max out your anaerobic bandwidth.
Indoor & Onsite: Gyms, Fitness Centers & Pools
The hotels and condominiums will typically provide a ftiness center with the essential workout machinery, dumb bell sets, yoga mats, and aerobic equipment. If you’re on a strict regime and require limitless equipment including large free weights, sleds, and strength equipment you’ll likely be best served to check out one of the training facilities just over the bridge in Gulf Breeze.
Wellness & Recovery
After you’ve fully exerted yourself, you’ll likely be in need of some wellness and recovery. Yoga and static stretching on the sugary white sands, during the sunrise or sunset hours is nothing short of majestic! The Hilton Pensacola Beach offers a weekly Sunset Beach Yoga class every Sunday evening. Others prefer taking a relaxing cool down jog on the shoreline to wind down the mind and body from strenuous activity. Regardless of what recovery routine you prefer, we highly recommend the grand finale of any session be enjoying a refreshing dip in the warm (or cool) Gulf of Mexico. With your mind at ease and body relaxed, you’ll be ready to do it all again tomorrow!
