Memorable And Gorgeous
Showcasing emerald-hued waters and sugar-white sand, our beaches stretch the full length of Santa Rosa County and include Gulf Islands National Seashore — the nation’s longest federally protected shoreline.
Equally alluring is our rich heritage. As one of the country’s earliest settlements, you’ll find living history all around you. On the western edge of the island stands Fort Pickens. Built in 1834 from more than 20 million bricks, this mighty fortress is open daily for tours.
Over on the mainland, you can explore Fort Barrancas, Big Lagoon State Park, or the Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.
Perhaps you’re up for a relaxing Sunday on the Gulf State Park Pier for some Pensacola Beach fishing and relishing the view. Whatever you’re searching for, you’ll find it right here.
Fort Pickens
Our “Guardian of the Gulf” sits on the western-most point of the island where gulf waters merge with the deep channels of Pensacola Bay. Built in 1834 and firmly rooted as one of Pensacola’s most iconic landmarks, Ft. Pickens offers exceptional indoor and outdoor recreation, educational opportunities, and lots of nature to explore. Whether you’re coming for a day or camping for a week, be sure to put Ft. Pickens on the list.
Casino Beach
This lively central hub, still considered the “main beach” of Pensacola, helped usher in the modern era and put us on the map as a leading travel destination. Constructed in 1931 to host pageants, boxing matches, and specialty events, this hotspot still draws crowds for the iconic beach experience!
Gulf Islands National Seashore
A true national treasure, Gulf Islands National Seashore features over 18 miles of unspoiled coastline, sand dunes, and sparkling waters. Divided into three primary zones –– East, West, and Central –– the seashore offers endless outdoor recreation opportunities and scenic driving routes.
Quietwater Beach
Tucked away in a convenient cove, this area is home to the island’s greatest concentration of restaurants, retail shops, and open-air bars. While its multi-use boardwalk plays host to some of the area’s most famous events (like the annual Bushwacker Festival) you can easily find idyllic spots where the whole family can enjoy the tranquil waters.
