October Events in Pensacola
Spooky season has arrived, and October brings a packed calendar of events to Pensacola. From Halloween celebrations and fall festivals to live music, hockey, Blue Angels practices, and some of Pensacola’s biggest annual events, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the season.

Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival – Oct 1-11
More than 150 songwriters come together for two weekends of live music and stories behind the songs during the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival. Performances take place in downtown Pensacola October 1–4 before the festival heads to venues across Pensacola Beach October 8–11.
Bands on the Beach – Oct 6, 13, 20 & 27
Enjoy the final month of Bands on the Beach at Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach, with free concerts every Tuesday at 7 PM. October’s lineup includes The Astronauts, SheAndTheIts, The Oliver’s Twist, and Horseshoe Kitty, with concerts organized and provided by the Santa Rosa Island Authority.
Festa Italiana – Oct 9-10
Celebrate Italian heritage at Seville Square in downtown Pensacola with two days of Italian food, live music, demonstrations, activities, and family-friendly entertainment. Admission is free, and proceeds from the annual festival help support scholarships and charitable giving in the Pensacola community.
Boo at the Zoo – Oct 10-11, 17-18, 24-25, & 31
Halloween fun takes over the Gulf Breeze Zoo with a trick-or-treat trail, bounce houses, face painting, interactive activities, and appearances from animal ambassadors. Boo at the Zoo runs from 10 AM–5 PM, and admission also includes access to the rest of the zoo for a full day of animal encounters and exhibits.
Blue Angels Practices – Oct 14, 20 & 28
Watch the Blue Angels practice over NAS Pensacola from the National Naval Aviation Museum. Base access begins at 9 AM, with the Blues typically flying around 10:30 AM and autograph sessions following the October 14 and 28 practices.
Gallery Night: Ghoul-ery Night – Oct 16
Gallery Night gets into the Halloween spirit with its Ghoul-ery Night theme in downtown Pensacola from 5–9 PM. Explore Palafox Street and the surrounding area for an evening of art, music, food, local businesses, and entertainment for all ages.
Beach-O-Ween – Oct 16
Bring the costumes to the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk for Beach-O-Ween from 4–8 PM. This free family event features a Halloween bounce house, costume contest, games, face painting, hot dogs, and plenty of candy.
Pensacola Ice Flyers Home Games – Oct 17, 24 & 30
Hockey returns to the Pensacola Bay Center as the Pensacola Ice Flyers begin another season of Southern Professional Hockey League action. October features Opening Night on October 17, Small Dog Race Night on October 24, and $5 Night on October 30, with all three games beginning at 7:05 PM.
Barktoberfest – Oct 18
The Pensacola Humane Society celebrates the 20th annual Barktoberfest at Seville Square and Fountain Park from 10 AM–4 PM. Bring your four-legged friend for dog costume and talent contests, small dog races, adoption opportunities, children’s activities, entertainment, food trucks, and a vendor market.
Sunday Game Days at the Landing – Oct 18 & 25
Spend your Sundays watching football at The Landing with big-screen viewing, additional TVs showing more games, waterfront views, and free admission. Doors open at 11 AM with game day eats and drink specials including 50¢ Famous WP smoked BBQ wings, $3 drafts, and more.
Pensacola Interstate Fair – Oct 22 – Nov 1
The Pensacola Interstate Fair celebrates its 90th year at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds on West Mobile Highway. The annual fair features more than 50 rides, live entertainment, exhibits, fair food, competitions, and activities for visitors of all ages.
Cinemas in the Sand: Toy Story 5 – Oct 23
Catch the final Cinemas in the Sand movie of the season with a free showing of Toy Story 5 at Gulfside Pavilion on Casino Beach. Hosted by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, the family-friendly outdoor movie begins at sunset.
Taste of the Beach: A Culinary Journey – Oct 29 – Nov 1
Taste of the Beach returns to Pensacola Beach for four days celebrating the island’s restaurants and chefs. Events include a sunset cruise, VIP Trolley Dinner, Saturday culinary showcase, and Sunday Brunch Trolley Experience.
Palafox Market Halloween Market – Oct 31
Celebrate Halloween at Palafox Market North at MLK Jr. Plaza and Palafox Market South at Plaza Ferdinand. Enjoy trick-or-treating, a free Haunted Trolley, live music, games, a Creepy Crawly Zoo, and more while browsing local vendors.
